Palm Acid Oil (PAO) is a byproduct of the refining process of palm oil. Most of the content is dominated by FFA (above 50%) and neutral oil, with 2-3% softness and other waste products. This product is similar to palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD).The main uses of PAO are for use as animal feed, an ingredient in soap and for the production of distilled fatty acids. This product is classified as rare production in European countries because Malaysian and Indonesian palm oil is refined by a physical process that produces more PFAD than PAO.
